Description
The first Professional/Business Club meeting was held on Tuesday, July 20th. This is the continuation of the Business/Management club with substantial change in focus and format. A very lively and interested group participated and made constructive comments to improve our communication, interaction and networking. We all participated in an open discussion to explore our capabilities to provide technical support to non-profit Institutions in Iran. Mr. Fardad Niknam gave a lecture about Tire Technology and worldwide business which was very interesting and informative.. On our second meeting which was held on August 24, Mr. Farshid Haste made a comprehensive presentation about “Status of Automotive Industry & Technology in Iran” which was very informative in interesting. Our September Session will have a general discussion to evaluate our resources, capabilities, obstacles and limitations as well as legal matters in regard to technology transfer to Iran. We also enjoyed pizza, cold drink, salad and hot tea with cookies in a very friendly atmosphere in our first meeting with lots of cookies in the second meeting. Majority of our participants were professional engineers. We hope that our friends from other professions will also join us and make this club more diverse and useful. The objective of this club is to create an environment where Iranian Professionals and Business persons can get together on a regular basis, form a professional network and expand their knowledge. Some of the proposed programs include:Monthly meeting with a lecture or a topic for discussion will be on the forth Tuesday of each month from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm at Persian School. Some goals are: Contribute and utilize the Persia House of Michigan website to support all activities of the club, develop and conduct lectures of interest to all Iranians in Michigan, stimulate the interest of Iranians students toward technology, provide job placement activities, sponsor scholarship for Iranian students, and promote cooperative ventures.
