Among several major global issues that humanity may face in the near future, the energy problem is the most dominant. The dilemma of increasing world population, higher energy consumption of the new generation as compared to the previous generation, and the inevitable equalization of human societies have made an irreversible path for lowering the energy consumption. In addition, the environmental issues, particularly in populated cities caused mainly by transportation sector and polluted industries, and impact of global warming are and will be the main human problems. On the other hand, the issues of energy have provided tremendous opportunities and challenges for young scientists and engineers working on energy related disciplines. I’ll try to provide a panoramic landscape of the future energy scenarios, and the role of alternative energy sources beyond the primary fossil fuels. The focus will be on various energy conversion technologies, and fundamentals of energy storage systems related to the electrification of auto, space and marine vehicles.Dr. Nazri did his formal education in Tehran University, and a doctoral degree in US. After his postdoctoral work at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory joined GM global R&D Center where he worked on electrification of automobile and development of advanced battery system, he recently joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University continuing his research on alternative energy sources and energy storage systems. He is also an industrial consultant and technical director of the Frontier Applied Sciences and Technologies, LLC. Dr. Nazri has published over 100 scientific papers, two text books, 9 proceedings volumes and 23 US and world patents.Chelo-Kabob and One to One Networking, Presentation, Question & Discussion and Group Networking
