In the bazaar, ladies prepared and sold a variety of items for Sofreh Haftseen. Some ladies showed up with their traditional dresses. The bazaar was a successful event. The ladies club thanks all participants and the board for their cooperation. We hope a greater participation with larger selection of items in the future for Noruz Bazaar. For now, the book club is available only to PHOM’S current members. The book club has a collection of books and tapes, most of which are in Farsi. PHOM and Ladies Club continue to promote our culture and heritage through a variety of programs; the Book Club is one of the means used to attain this goal. People like you have donated books and money to make the Book Club possible. These donors have allowed other people to enjoy their books as they had. This will allow our children and grandchildren learn more about our culture. Books will help us stay in contact with Iranian literature and poetry. In addition, many of the parents and grandparents can enjoy a relaxing and joyful time while visiting their loved ones. You can contribute to this initiative by lending your books to the book club. You can always have your books returned to you with a month notice. The goals of the Club focus on satisfying today’s women’s needs and education. To achieve these goals, the club has organized a Hot Line, Book Club, Networking and Educational sub-committees. In addition, the Ladies Club has organized a series of lectures which were presented during January, February and April of 2003. The Club meetings hold on the fourth Sunday of each month with some exception when there is a holiday. We will take a break for months of June, July and August.
